This business card came back from the press department and all the graphic designers in the studio went nuts. They loved the simple idea of printing the entire card in PMS 877 Metallic Silver and then using a Clover step-and-repeat background pattern in Spot UV. What makes this card looks so great in addition to the Metallic Silver and Spot UV is the font and placement of needed info. Great job Katie Robinson…. You hit a home run!

Okay so you think you want to have a fold over business card printed up for your company but don't really know how to go about getting it printed. Here are some basic facts about a fold over card you should keep in mind. We print our cards on 14pt matte, glossy or silk paper. The reason for the 14pt is you don't want the card to be too thick when you fold in down.

You have 3 main areas to design with a fold-over card; the front cover, back cover and inside. Some designers will say you have four panels but I would have to disagree and regard the inside area as a single panel.

Try and spread out the information and make it flow. Something catching or very important should go on the cover. The inside panel should contain all the good stuff.

Here is a computer generated mock up of what the card is going to look like, but it is hard to simulate spot UV and foil stamping on screen. You bet we will be posting photographs of these as soon as they get out of the bindery department.

This is a 16pt Matte Finish with Spot UV business card. The designer used a blue gradient on the back with the logo printed with the spot uv.

This business card is simple yet stunning. We wanted to show the power of just using one color… Black. The card stock is 12mm PVC, which is much thinner than a normal plastic credit card along with black ink and black foil stamping. The inner parts of the card were stamped in foil.
