Speaking of big hits, Tim Burton is going to release with Disney his vision of Alice In Wonderland in March of 2010!

The new instant classic movie is building big expectations, not only among Disney fans, but especially among adults who have read the book, is Tim Burton’s adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. What is already an interesting project, because it is Burton and it is Alice, is flavored by the actors who bring the main characters to life: Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter; Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen; Anne Hathaway as the White Queen; and the new face of Australian actress Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Burton has already said he will stay true to the stories’ essence, although the plot is about a 17-year-old Alice that goes back to Wonderland, a place she visited ten years before. Recently, the images of some movie characters have been released and as you might guess, the movie will be a combination of live performance with animation. With Burton’s gift of a kind of insane and mesmerizing creativity; this movie might just surpass the great expectations it is generating. Alice in Wonderland is in pre-production and is expected to open in theaters March 5, 2010.

My roommate is a tattoo artist, as I've mentioned before. He finally got around to ordering some bad ass business cards with his custom drawn artwork on them. Today we're going to talk about embossed foil stamped business cards. Well we're not really going to talk about it, I'm just going to post pictures of a card we recently did that has gold foil embossing on a super glossy business card. Pretty slick looking business cards.

Featured in the photos is a temporary card the customer ordered from us with a foil effect reproduced in flat ink. It gives the illusion of foil at a fraction of the price.

When there's a strict budget to be met you can always pick some options like that. You could even go for the full color foil process or the metallics unlimited as well

Here's an old Design Chris did for a magician in Delray Beach that goes by the name of Brad Barton. He's a magical freak so Chris had to design a business card that was as unique as his act. All the artwork is vector and he used copper metallic ink and black on a 14pt chrome coat. These are custom sized business cards (playing card size) with specific numbers hidden in them so he could perform illusions with them. Check this out. Chris found the FIRST EVER set of Luice Design business cards. With die cutting and metallic red and silver metallic ink. Back in the days when those were the most pimped out options you could get this business card was on fire it was so hot.

These probably cost a pretty penny back in the 90's when Chris first started Luice Design. Now you can get these cards without having to break open the piggy bank. Of course the any custom die cutting will set you back around $200.

Spot Silver Metallic Ink Business Cards

Recently we were contacted by a company who wanted to have their business cards reprinted. No problem there. However, when we received the sample of what they wanted, along with what they were looking to spend we knew that the two wouldn't match up. It's an unfortunate situation but it does come up.

I was able to give them a price for the cards based on exactly what they wanted and, as predicted it was too high. No fear though! Here at Luice Design Full Colour Printing our goal is to get the customer something that will make them happy. I showed them our Spot Metallic Silver cards with a matte finish and they absolutely loved them the concept.

The spot silver metallic ink in place of the foil stamping worked out perfectly and was a much much cheaper option compared to the stamping.
Bottom line here is that occasionally you may need to change the options on what you want to find a price that agrees with you, but this doesn't at all mean you have to sacrifice the design or quality of your business card.
