Speaking of big hits, Tim Burton is going to release with Disney his vision of Alice In Wonderland in March of 2010!

The new instant classic movie is building big expectations, not only among Disney fans, but especially among adults who have read the book, is Tim Burton’s adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. What is already an interesting project, because it is Burton and it is Alice, is flavored by the actors who bring the main characters to life: Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter; Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen; Anne Hathaway as the White Queen; and the new face of Australian actress Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Burton has already said he will stay true to the stories’ essence, although the plot is about a 17-year-old Alice that goes back to Wonderland, a place she visited ten years before. Recently, the images of some movie characters have been released and as you might guess, the movie will be a combination of live performance with animation. With Burton’s gift of a kind of insane and mesmerizing creativity; this movie might just surpass the great expectations it is generating. Alice in Wonderland is in pre-production and is expected to open in theaters March 5, 2010.

This is a really slick looking business card too. The silver and brown colours compliment each other quite nicely. It smells like chocolate too! Sadly though, that just has to do with the card being packed in Chris's bag with some chocolate bars or something. How great would that be though?! Scented business cards! NICE!

Featured in the photos is a temporary card the customer ordered from us with a foil effect reproduced in flat ink. It gives the illusion of foil at a fraction of the price.

When there's a strict budget to be met you can always pick some options like that. You could even go for the full color foil process or the metallics unlimited as well

You'd be amazed at how many very very talented designers out there who have sent us some great stuff to have printed in various formats. What I want to talk about today is the foil stamp. When designing something you'd like to have foil stamped you have to remember that very fine detail isn't the best idea. You have to remember that a foil stamp is literally a stamp that is pressed into the card using a metal die. Any very fine detail in your design will be lost during this process and probably not look all that good. Unfortunate but true.

If you have a design you want to be foil stamped and it's a very involved design, I'd suggest that you try the full colour printing foil process instead. It's still foil, just done in a different way. The foil is printed onto the card in the shape of your design and then the inks are printed on top of everything so anything that doesn't have foil below it will just be normal printed ink and the foil will stand out quite nicely. Finish it off with a glossy UV coating and you're all set!

Another suggestion would be to check out the full color metallic ink printing. It's not as shiny and sparkly as the foil process but it's very very cool looking. It's a little more tasteful and reserved than the full color foil process if you ask me. You can have it done in full color or as just a spot color depending on your design needs. The metallic ink is only offered with a matte finish and on nice thick 14PT or 16PT stock.

SILK CARDS!!! They're really really nice. It's a normal paper business card, coated with a special finish that makes the cards silky smooth to the touch, water proof and virtually tear proof. I only say 'virtually' because it's entirely possible to tear them, but it'll take some work. Trust me!

You can include some other options too if you would like. Foil stamping is a nice touch.
One of my favorite business cards I've seen come through Luice Design was a black, silk finished card with foil stamping on it.
You can also have 1, 2 or all 4 corners rounded.
